Implementation of bot detection and removal, and proposing research topics
Hello, this is Haruta Watanabe.
First, I apologize for the suspension of my posts. I plan to resume them around the third week of September, so I would appreciate it if you could continue to follow along.
While I usually develop mobile apps and websites, I have now completed the 47th week of my studies with a view towards a career as a software engineer and data scientist. This week, my internship in Fukuoka Prefecture concluded, and I was able to return safely to Tokyo.
Through the many internships I participated in during August, I was able to acquire more practical skills, which I feel will be extremely useful for my future studies and career.
First, to put this into practice, I would like to apply the perspectives, knowledge, and ways of thinking I learned to my development work at my part-time job.
Week 47 Reflection
This week, continuing from last week, I proceeded with my studies along the following two axes:
- Bot Detection and Rejection As the first phase of the research I am conducting under Professor Iio, I implemented bot detection and rejection based on academic papers. By understanding the contents of the papers and actually translating them into code, I was able to acquire foundational research skills.
- Brainstorming Research Topics As the second phase of the research, I brainstormed ideas for the core components. I investigated prior research on the approaches I am considering and decided on a policy to base my future studies on these.
Week 48 Goals
In week 48, I will once again focus on solidifying the foundational knowledge that is the cornerstone of my research.
- Measuring Empirical Values of the Implementation I will actually run the bot detection and rejection code I implemented last week and measure with what degree of accuracy it can detect bots. Through this, I can confirm the accuracy of the implementation and identify areas for improvement.
Going Forward
I will continue to post a summary of my previous week’s reflection and my goals for the current week every Monday.
Thank you for your continued support.
