First Hackathon Challenge and Great Inspiration
Hello, this is Haruta Watanabe.
First, I deeply apologize for the significant delay in this post.
While I usually develop mobile apps and websites, I have now completed the 20th week of my studies with a view towards a career as a software engineer and data scientist. This week was extremely stimulating for me as a developer.
Week 20 Reflection
This week, I participated in my first-ever hackathon, the “Gemini3 Hackathon Tokyo,” co-hosted by Cerebral Valley and Google DeepMind.
Unfortunately, the product we developed did not make it to the podium. However, I was deeply impressed by directly witnessing the flexible creativity and overwhelming technical skills of the other participants gathered at the venue. More than feeling regret, I gained a strong motivation to “hone my technical skills further,” and I have firmed up my resolve to pursue my future studies and development activities even more aggressively.
It was a wonderful experience with great takeaways that went beyond the results. If you ever have the chance, why not try challenging a hackathon too!
Week 21 Goals
In week 21, fueled by the enthusiasm I gained at the hackathon, I will forge my foundational skills and global perspective.
- Continue Learning Algorithms
- Continuing from last week, I will proceed with learning algorithms and polish my ability to design more efficient and refined code.
- Advance English Studies
- With an eye towards catching up on the latest technical information and acting with a broader perspective, I will also begin studying English in earnest.
Going Forward
I will continue to post a summary of my previous week’s reflection and my goals for the current week every Monday.
Thank you for your continued support.
