The Importance of Health Management and the Challenge of Data Structures

Hello, this is Haruta Watanabe.

First, I apologize for the delay in this post.

While I usually develop mobile apps and websites, I have now completed the 24th week of my studies with a view towards a career as a software engineer and data scientist. This week was one where I acutely realized the importance of “self-management” for sustainable learning.

Week 24 Reflection

This week, perhaps due to fatigue from the internship I participated in last week, I fell seriously ill and ended up bedridden for many days.

I felt frustrated as my poor health interfered with my planned studies. I reaffirmed that for long-term learning and to consistently perform as a professional engineer in the future, “health management is an important skill” just as much as technical ability. Going forward, I will pay close attention to maintaining a reasonable pace and managing my daily health.

Week 25 Goals

In week 25, after fully recovering my health, I will proceed with learning that approaches the core of computer science.

  • Learning Algorithms and Data Structures While continuing my algorithm studies, I will get serious about learning “data structures,” which fundamentally support the efficiency of programs. By learning these two as a set, I will cultivate more practical and robust software building skills.

Going Forward

I will continue to post a summary of my previous week’s reflection and my goals for the current week every Monday.

Thank you for your continued support.
