Implementing Algorithms in Python and Steps Toward Neural Networks

Hello, this is Haruta Watanabe.

First, I apologize for the delay in this post. The Golden Week holidays threw off my study pace and sense of time a bit, but I am refreshing my mindset and moving forward.

While I usually develop mobile apps and websites, I have now completed the 29th week of my studies with a view towards a career as a software engineer and data scientist.

Week 29 Reflection

This week, I proceeded with my studies focusing on the following two areas:

  • Learning Algorithms and Data Structures in Python In addition to the theoretical learning so far, I practiced actually implementing algorithms and data structures using Python. I am deepening my understanding of how to write efficient code that leverages the characteristics of the language.
  • Learning Neural Networks I learned about the mechanisms of neural networks, an advanced field of machine learning. Touching upon the fundamental logic of how models learn and make predictions has highly stimulated my intellectual curiosity.

Week 30 Goals

In week 30, I will focus on strengthening my foundational skills and catching up on more advanced lectures.

  • Continued Study of Algorithms and Data Structures Continuing from last week, I will forge my practical coding skills in Python.
  • Advancing the Matsuo-Iwasawa Lab’s “DL Fundamentals” Course Using my study of neural networks as a foothold, I will energetically tackle the assignments and input for the Deep Learning Fundamentals course I am currently taking, sticking with it so as not to fall behind.

Going Forward

I will continue to post a summary of my previous week’s reflection and my goals for the current week every Monday.

Thank you for your continued support.
